Studio Friday: Playtime
It was last wednesday when I did this painting. I was a bit sad and was not talking so much with my husband….I was staring at the wall beside a handy cabinet with all my cosmetics etc. in the bedroom, when I saw this box my husband gave me last december. Inside the box is an oil lamp with wicks, strings and starter liquid. I have not used it yet since I was waiting for a nice occasion. I have thought that the box was so plain that I have to make it more attractive. Many times; when it is not bedtime that I do my sketches and drawing in the bed. I know, it is messy to paint in the bed-especially since I have white linens but, I have put some white papers on top and used a lot of tissue to clean my brushes. (I could have taken picture of the mess but my camera's battery needs a new replacement, and I only borrowed the one of my husband in taking this picture) I have done this painting with my left hand as per instruction by Tine. I really didn’t know what to draw since I was sad but, when I finally started stroking my brush that a kind of bird began to form and slowly my feelings became lighter because I was illustrating how I feel. Slowly, the image of two birds sitting together came out and the light yellow colors are reflection of the light at sunrise. Something that I felt in relation with how I wanted to resolve my anger to my husband. My mood suddenly changed when I saw what I did. I was glad!.... Sorry, but I cannot work alone with my non dominant hand and smooth finished everything with cotton buds by my right hand. And so here goes my entry this week. Whatchathink???

Drawing is a great thing to do when you're sad - it always makes you feel better. I like your birds.

Oh my god, Isay, they look soooo wonderful but even more wonderful knowing their story behind them. I am so happy that the exercise helped you so much!!!! Wow! And they look so interesting because you used colors you usually would never use :-) I like the yellow corner, makes such a great contrast!!
And that is sooo brave that you painted it right on top of the box!!! I wouldn't have the guts to do that I don't think, hahah!
Just amazing! Wonder what your husband thought...did you manage to resolve your anger with your husband, too and you guys talked about it. That is the most important thing in any relationship: to talk and communicate.
**sparkly sparkles* to you!!
