Studio Friday: Playtime
It was last wednesday when I did this painting. I was a bit sad and was not talking so much with my husband….I was staring at the wall beside a handy cabinet with all my cosmetics etc. in the bedroom, when I saw this box my husband gave me last december. Inside the box is an oil lamp with wicks, strings and starter liquid. I have not used it yet since I was waiting for a nice occasion. I have thought that the box was so plain that I have to make it more attractive. Many times; when it is not bedtime that I do my sketches and drawing in the bed. I know, it is messy to paint in the bed-especially since I have white linens but, I have put some white papers on top and used a lot of tissue to clean my brushes. (I could have taken picture of the mess but my camera's battery needs a new replacement, and I only borrowed the one of my husband in taking this picture) I have done this painting with my left hand as per instruction by Tine. I really didn’t know what to draw since I was sad but, when I finally started stroking my brush that a kind of bird began to form and slowly my feelings became lighter because I was illustrating how I feel. Slowly, the image of two birds sitting together came out and the light yellow colors are reflection of the light at sunrise. Something that I felt in relation with how I wanted to resolve my anger to my husband. My mood suddenly changed when I saw what I did. I was glad!.... Sorry, but I cannot work alone with my non dominant hand and smooth finished everything with cotton buds by my right hand. And so here goes my entry this week. Whatchathink???

Studio Friday: Positive Space
Eversince my husband have asked me to sail with him that my fear of the waters have began to go away. He likes sailing a lot and we had so many paintings and pictures of boats in the house, but this one is really beautiful. This space is located on the left side as you would see in my entry last friday. It is my dream that one day I can organize a cruise trip for painters, water colorists, illustrators etc. It would be nice to meet a lot of them, exchange ideas and also be altogether for a cause or just having fun. I also like the little drawing of this girl I have placed in our clipboard and makes me smile everytime I turn around.

Gudrun
Gudrun, my mother in law have passed away yesterday morning. She was in the hospital for more than 3 weeks and have been fighting for her life until yesterday. She was 93 years old. She had a wonderful and peaceful life. My father in law keeps on saying- she has never been angry and was nice to him all the time. Their relationship and sweetness to each other was very inspiring.
We had our happy times together and she meant a great deal to me because I have considered her as my own mother from the very first time I have met her.

Studio Friday: Negative Space
I took this picture in the evening and the camera was not properly adjusted that the lights made an effect in the picture. I did not took another shot since I find it amusing. There are two mobile phones on top of the red box with aluminum locks that created the shadow lighting in the curtain. It becomes a negative space everytime my husband would put a lot of the things from the stockroom like paint, brushes, scredrivers etc. on the long table on the left. Also, during the day, especially in the summer, since the sun shines so brightly that I cannot work on pictures in the computer. My solution would be to make another curtain(gray or black) that can cover the white curtain (I hope I can make one soon!)

Studio Friday: Sketchbooks, Notebooks...
These are sketchbooks that I have bought two years ago, but I have only started drawing again 92 days ago, and 3 of them are already full of sketches by pencil and colored pencils. I am going back to water color slowly because it was a long time ago I did the last one and it is somewhere in my parents house. But I am also fascinated with digital drawing and a little obsessed, too!-that I sometimes start my drawing in my sketchpad and finished it with photoshop or painter.
