Tine's Studio Friday
This week's topic for Studio Friday is: SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE ! Kindly click the picture to enlarge.
The oldest jewelry that I have came from my mother and which have been given to her by my grandmother. She has two pieces of this necklace with the same design but different sizes. I’ve got the smaller one and my youngest sister got the bigger one. It is a locket and I have put my mom and dad’s pictures inside. My mother died in 1993 while my father died in 2002.
I have 3 new clothes that I have bought accidentally because they were on sale at H & M. I have planned to use it in the spring which is going to be soon!
I have borrowed a book from my husband some days ago. You might be wondering why I have to borrow it from my husband. The reason is we have lots of bookshelves. And yet, he has a particular bookshelves in his studio and I got mine in my own space. The other night, he realized that I was not returning most of his books when he saw them in my bookshelves(LOL). Anyway, this is the book of Dan Brown entitled “Angels and Demon”.
Something blue are my favorite pair of silver jewelry with aquamarine gem stone. My husband bought them for me during our trip in Greece. We were there for a week and I have seen it during our first day in the place. I have promised myself not to buy any jewelry during the planning stage of our trip, and I was tempted because they are so beautiful. I passed by the jewelry shop everyday and looked at them. On our last day, I said goodbye to them and then my husband said that he was so glad that I was able to resist the temptation of buying them. And then he said, why don't you at least try on wearing them if they fit you to a T. I never thought about it but, i liked the idea so off we went inside. I was smiling and frowning while I tried them on because I will not buy them-but then suddenly my husband offered to buy it for me as a gift. So sweet! Everytime I am wearing it, I always tease him that I knew from the start that he's going to buy it for me if only I'll let him feel how much I wanted them. While he would say that he was teasing me and he could have bought them during our first day but he did not. Foolish are we?

Have you read Ex libris by Anne Fadiman? Great book about a woman who after years of marriage MAYBE begin thinking of sorting her books together with her husbands books... a bigger step thant acctually moving together with him I think. GREAT book! :-)
thanks hanna for visiting. you always remind me of my niece that i miss....
I have not read it but it seems like a great book. I'll try to find it in the net. Very few english books here in the bookstore.
have a nice weekend.
That's very sweet of him, ISAY:) They look beautiful!
That book is the next on my reading list. Hope you enjoy it! Love the jewerly too.
Thank you for sharing sweet jewelry stories.
Your book situation reminds me of how we act about tools. Only I am the one who wants MINE returned!
Having the locket than has been in your family is a real treasure and it is nice that your sister has a matching one. Perhaps the jewelry that your husband bought for you will be passed down as well and your grandchildren will tell the same story you have told us about how you received it. History in the making!
Nice job on this weeks theme! I love the locket...talk about a treasure!
