Why am I married?

This has been forwarded to me. I am not sure if all of you have encountered them already. It has forwarded to me a long time ago and reading it again these days made laughed than before.

WHY AM I MARRIED?
You have two choices in life: You can stay single and be miserable, or get married and wish you were dead.

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?""Yes, I am. I married the wrong man."

A lady inserted an ad in the classifieds: "Husband Wanted"Next day she received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."

When a woman steals your husband, there is no better revenge than to let her keep him.

A woman is incomplete until she is married. Then she is finished.

A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" Father replied, "I don't know, son, I'm still paying."

A young son asked, "Is it true, Dad, that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?"Dad replied, "That happens in every country, son."

Then there was a woman who said, "I never knew what real happiness was until I got married, and by then, it was too late."

Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say -- talk in your sleep.

Just think, if it wasn't for marriage, men would go through life thinking they had no faults at all.

First guy says, "My wife's an angel!" Second guy remarks, "You're lucky. Mine's still alive."

A Woman's PrayerDear Lord, I pray for Wisdom, to understand a man, to love and to forgive him, and for Patience, for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll just beat him to death.

AND NOW FOR THE FAVORITE!!!

Husband and wife are waiting at the bus stop with their nine children. A blind man joins them after a few minutes. When the bus arrives, they find it overloaded and only the wife and the nine kids are able to fit onto the bus. So the husband and the blind man decide to walk. After a while, the husband gets irritated by the ticking of the stick of the blind man as he taps it on the sidewalk, and says to him, "Why don't you put a piece of rubber at the end of your stick? That ticking sound is driving me crazy." The blind man replies, "If you would've put a rubber at the end of YOUR stick, we'd be riding the bus .... so shut the hell up."

Tine's Studio Friday

This week's topic for Studio Friday is: SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE ! Kindly click the picture to enlarge.

The oldest jewelry that I have came from my mother and which have been given to her by my grandmother. She has two pieces of this necklace with the same design but different sizes. I’ve got the smaller one and my youngest sister got the bigger one. It is a locket and I have put my mom and dad’s pictures inside. My mother died in 1993 while my father died in 2002.

I have 3 new clothes that I have bought accidentally because they were on sale at H & M. I have planned to use it in the spring which is going to be soon!

I have borrowed a book from my husband some days ago. You might be wondering why I have to borrow it from my husband. The reason is we have lots of bookshelves. And yet, he has a particular bookshelves in his studio and I got mine in my own space. The other night, he realized that I was not returning most of his books when he saw them in my bookshelves(LOL). Anyway, this is the book of Dan Brown entitled “Angels and Demon”.

Something blue are my favorite pair of silver jewelry with aquamarine gem stone. My husband bought them for me during our trip in Greece. We were there for a week and I have seen it during our first day in the place. I have promised myself not to buy any jewelry during the planning stage of our trip, and I was tempted because they are so beautiful. I passed by the jewelry shop everyday and looked at them. On our last day, I said goodbye to them and then my husband said that he was so glad that I was able to resist the temptation of buying them. And then he said, why don't you at least try on wearing them if they fit you to a T. I never thought about it but, i liked the idea so off we went inside. I was smiling and frowning while I tried them on because I will not buy them-but then suddenly my husband offered to buy it for me as a gift. So sweet! Everytime I am wearing it, I always tease him that I knew from the start that he's going to buy it for me if only I'll let him feel how much I wanted them. While he would say that he was teasing me and he could have bought them during our first day but he did not. Foolish are we?

Studio Friday: WHAT"S YOUR POISON?!

"I like to have a cup of tea or some other beverage while I work. What do the other artists like to sip at while they work? Tea, coffee, juice, water, and do they have a favourite mug or cup?" ~tempestdelfuego

I like the smell of coffee especially in the morning . I drink one cup of coffee when I wake up. The rest of the day I drink whatever is available like orange juice, milk, water, tea(lemon, orange, jasmin, earl grey english tea or ginger)hot chocolate or Pepsi light. I used to be a Coca cola drinker before I got married but my husband and the rest of the family are Pepsi light drinkers that I get to like it, too after some time. During spring and summer, I make my own fruit juice or shake –melon or strawberry. Usually, water is my finishing off taste because most of the time, I crave for more which means going and out of WC most of the time.

The mug on the left (in the first picture) is my favorite and have been using it for ages. I have posted something about it earlier in my blog. Just click here. The mug on the right is a gift that I have given my husband and he has been using it, too eversince.

black pearl necklace

This necklace was given to me by an ex boyfriend so many years ago. Our relationship was an on and off thing and one time, I really got angry at him and was wearing this black pearl necklace-and suddenly I pulled it out from my neck, broke the string and it scattered on the floor. My neck was hurt and became red but my boyfriend was more worried of the pieces of pearls. He said it caused him a lot to buy the necklace because they were genuine pearls, and I could have just given it nicely to him. I was stunned, got more angrier and left him. I did not heard from him for three days but, he showed up in my doorsteps on the fourth day, asked forgiveness and gave me a small beautifully wrapped box. In it was the black pearl necklace intact and beautiful as ever. We broke up after two years and remained good friends and everytime I am wearing this necklace that I remember that incident. By the way, it was on the lobby of a hotel when it happened and the floor was carpeted. Someone helped him to gather them according to him.

Studio Friday: Fear

First of all, I am wearing my favorite necklace from the south of the Philippines. It is a handmade necklace in different colors and was a native inspired jewelry. It creates a beautiful sound everytime I walk or move. (I will try to take a picture of it later on.) Note: this is the new picture with the first one on the upper right was inserted.

I realized the numbers of fears I have--- have multiplied as I get older. I am not sure how many of them have I conquered but, if ever I was not able to do it by myself then someone have helped me. One of my best weapon in handling my fears is prayer. It makes me calm, it gives me peace and confidence. One of the many experiences I always encounter every now and then is being misunderstood and misjudged and the other way around. I have worked with people of different race and culture eversince I began working, and I learned a lot of things from making a lot of mistakes- especially by just opening my mouth and saying a word. Language and actions can become a barrier many times. For example in our country, so many people likes to say something like “ohh you have gain weight” but actually the one who’s saying it just wanted to say that it was good that she’s a bit healthier and not the negative meaning or just to insult the person. If you are thin or slim, people sometimes think that you are on a diet or you have not been eating or you are malnourished etc. that is why people try to avoid saying it.

As I get older, I have become more aware and accept the fact that I might encounter a judgmental or racist whatever you can call it any day wherever I am. It is a fear that makes me angry but I have learned to try to trace the root and move on from there. I thought, what if I am the one committing the same mistake without being aware of it? I have to be in control of my emotions and yet, no matter how I try, the sudden anger I feel, especially if the problem is bigger, takes place right away. Human frailty. Lots and lots of stories to tell ....well, fear have made me become more stronger in my faith and in understanding life.

Have a nice day all of you!

Snow

In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak midwinter, Long ago.

Quotes and Pictures

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.--Abraham Lincoln
