Studio Friday: ....this is the one

This week's topic for Friday September 28th: THIS IS THE ONE...
Imagine this: a complete hypothetical scenario... Your studio/creative space gets destroyed in a disaster (don't dwell on the disaster part too long). All people/family members/boyfriends/husbands/animals are safe and sound and well. You can run back in and save only ONE item and carry it to safety. What would you save and why??

OHHHHHHHHH yes I really don’t want to dwell on the disaster part….. but if there is one item I would save anytime-- that is my external hard drive. This is were all (not including those I left in my homeland in which I am not sure are still intact) my files, pictures of all the paintings and digital sketches since I revived my inactive creative side of me.

Art exhibition

Kindly click the image to enLARGE. My former neighbor and good friend Ellen invited me to see an art exhibition two weekend ago, but it is only now that I was able to post the pictures of the place. I had been there twice in the past to attend some birthday parties held in the restaurant but I did not had the chance to see the exhibition hall. Here is the link for the place.

By the way, I skipped Studio Friday this week- I had nothing to show for this week's topic because I left all my artworks(from the time I began drawing) in our maternal house in my homeland .

Surprise me!

This weeks topic at Studio Friday: IN CASE OF CREATIVE EMERGENCY...In case of a creative dilemma when you are unsure of how to proceed, what do you do? Is there anyone special whom you can ask for advice, call and talk to or go visit? That special person that believes in you no matter how crappy you feel and how afraid and doubt filled you are. Who is there to assist you and help you? Maybe you are still looking for that someone? If so, what does your wishlist look like for him/her?

When I was in school, a relative of mine helped me and gave me inspiration to produce creative projects that I never imagined would end up in exhibition. He owned a business producing wood mold for shoes. He made the first mold for a new style and then the rest is being made by a machine. It’s like a small beautiful piece of sculpture that was behind the creations of lovely and comfortable shoes. Unfotunately, he died some years ago in another country.

For so many years now, I don’t have anyone to talk with or ask for any advice when I am lacking of active creativity. I only read a lot and visit so many art websites by artists that I truly admire, or just keep on clicking and, I would always end up finding a new interesting creative website.

There were times that I would talk about my being inconfident about my art goals etc. etc. and if there is anyone out there who happened to read it and was hesitant to leave a comment please---surprise me. I would really appreciate it! An artist helping another artist. Ohhh! What a more beautiful world we can create!

Isay Kitchen

Today, I will share with you some pictures of my kitchen. It is where I like to paint early in the morning and bake some new cake recipes. By the way, I did not took the pictures of the stove and sink. The stove is on the right side where the mugs are and the sink below the framed picture(an island in Italy).

Studio Friday: ......'s map

Kindly click the image to enLARGE. I didn’t know why I chose to paint this until I was finished…..Growing up from a tropical country, I’ve had the most wonderful experiences waking up early to watch the sun rising and the setting of the sun sometimes on top of a house or a mountain. I like the sunlight most especially because there is a visible supply of the never-ending changes, reproduction that is taking place in nature. I like watching the bees consuming a flower nectar, a flower opening up to the light of the sun and, the rays of sunlight coming out the trees in the middle of the forest early morning, listening and watching the roosters as they cry out automatically every single day etc....
I am not sure if it’s not good not to have a map of my dreams because, all my life I never thought of really pursuing my dreams until (only thinking about it) lately..... It is somewhere inside me but I never gave it a chance. I had placed myself in circumstances that I was not the only one involved but a big family and the resources surrounding my fate. Long story.
This is really an inspiring topic because something is peeping my thoughts for months now. And a question has been pestering me but I keep on ignoring it. The question of relocating or being in the right place for --that not really not late wish ---of making all my artworks known and to be able to work on them fulltime. How I wish that I will take it seriously and, find the right answer soon and, walk on that path courageously…..

About Me

My Photo
Name: isay

In my dream, I am dreaming like a dreamer.... everything is all about you and me and the world we live in. It is not a perfect world and it's very difficult most of the time, but we manage to reach out, even see and experience things positively most of the time. Life passes us by so quickly, and every chance we get-we try harder to make it work- because life is beautiful and so were YOU and I.
