This week's topic at Studio Friday----An art tribute to someone that you love, and that encouraged\inspired\supported you as an artist...-Lauren

Sr. Lauretta. She is somebody who loves unconditionally. She is kind, sweet, understanding and intelligent. She has a smile that can make you feel so comfortable instantly. I've known her for so many years already and she has not changed. She still has that wonderful effect to people- (like a vibrating sound of how beautiful life is) whenever she talks and laugh.
And, she always have supported me with my artistic inclination. Her dedication to her vocation and apostolate---helping the sick and the afllicted, her humble ways and generosity --they all continously inspiring me to appreciate life and, in learning to express them in my drawings and paintings.
I also uploaded a collage of my flower pictures because she like flowers a lot and, I know that the filipinos and my homeland the Philippines will always hold a special place in her heart.

Studio Friday: summer afternoon
What does a "summer afternoon" mean or feel like to you....?
Summer is my favorite season and you cannot find me at home because I am always out. It means a lot to me even all the summer memories I had in the past. Every each one of those memories were special -----and one of them was flying kites in an open field(just in front of our house)together with my sisters. I also like eating and sitting under a mango tree or any tree that gives lots of shade and some fresh air...... One summer afternoon for me means some moments of relaxation with your loveone in the garden, in the forest, or just listening to sound of the birds and waves while sailing, or walking in a white sand in the beach etc etc. I am not sure if it's autumn over here already (we have extreme weather condition)and, this picture I took last month. I don't have a cat(I wish I could have butI have allergy)but you can find some cat in my drawings once in a while. Kindly click the image to enLARGE.

Studio Friday: Fave Item(s)
Fave item in your studio/craft space- why do you love it and how does it inspire you (art or journal+ photo)?-Lauren
Kindly click image to enLARGE. These are my current fav items. I have a glass cabinet where I put my special little items that I made, items mostly given to me by my loveones and friends and items I had fancied to buy. Once in a while I take out one or more and placed them just beside my computer because it has the same effect on me when I am given some flowers-it does wonders to my sad face.....

Studio Friday: one page
Kindly click to enLARGE. This is one page of my sketchbook. One rainy night, I came across a letter from a close friend way back in high school. She is a very nice and sweet person. We have not seen each other for a long time now but we still get in touch once in a while. There was one incident during our senior year, where she got jealous(she won’t admit it actually he he he …)because I came to know and befriended a new girl in school and, I helped her with some things and we really did not stop talking and telling stories to each other. Before I knew it, my friend was gone. I call this illustration yellow umbrella because my friend won’t call her name but she would always teased me and called her-that girl with the yellow umbrella.
Some of my drawings have stories actually but, sadly nowadays ---there nothing's new in my sketchbook because I am painting in canvass or either I am painting digitally.

tuesday with isay
Nay, her foot speaks.-William Shakespeare
Kindly click the image to enLARGE. I was taking some pictures while lying down last night-uhmmmmm what a lazy monday yesterday. And then, I took pictures of my feet and hand. I kinda like how my feet was taken because it seems the right foot is not lying on top of the left. And. the bracelet I was wearing makes me remember my youngest sister who gave it to me.

Studio Friday: storage/containers
I buy those cone like soft chocolate coated whipped cream in plastic containers because, it tastes so good but, also because when I finished them all, I use them as containers for my artworks or supplies and then, store them in a cabinet. I also collect big shoe boxes and wrapped them nicely and place my colored papers on it. But, you see I have a little place to put my artworks right now, I cannot even call them a studio. Some of them I also store in the terrace-in a big plastic container with rolling wheels. Kindly click the image to enLARGE. You can find other entries for Studio Friday over here.
