The sun was shining brightly yesterday and I had a great time with my friend Ellen who was so nice to bring me with her in visiting a woman in her beautiful garden. There were other women and men, too and we were offered some homemade and real tasting cinammon bread and butter, carrot rolls, coffee and tea. In the evening, I was invited to see a movie by another friend and we took the train going to the center. Unfortunately, when we came back there was the police and some people gathered around my friend's car. Someone smashed my friend's car window doors. It was terrible, and he was really disgusted and annry and......because it happened twice already and in the same spot.....This is really a busy month for him, and he is moving a lot and needed his car all the time....Before midnight he called me up and he was already calm. I don't think there's even any thing missing in the car....just for the sake of having something to smashed?, or they were just high....

Yesterday, we celebrated Valentine's Day going to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art,then we had a short tour at center Copenhagen drinking lots of coffee's and chocos while waiting for our reservation time in an Italian Restaurant. Then we went home and ate a delicious refrigerator cake.
We had sunshine during the day and really frost weather in the evening. Hey, Enjoy the pictures. I must say that I really liked the big oil paintings og Max Ernst but unfortunately, I cannot take pictures of them.

I am still sleepy and tired but the sun is shining and it has never failed me in giving me strength to stand up......Lucky me that my bedroom is blessed with the light coming from the sun and the moon.
I hope you will enjoy looking at the pictures from last night. The pictures were not as clear because I think I ate so much and was dizzy. We were also dancing in the kitchen and they kept telling me to forget about the pictures. I made some maki sushi and as usual, I did not forget my never ending baked mussels(this year I was lucky because I´ve got really good mussels and yummy, too!).....we also had salmon and terrific vegetables and melon salad this year. We also had the traditional danish kransekage and champagne. And we all had a big laugh over and over again with the traditional "Dinner for one" program on television minutes before the countdown. Really funny.

I am wishing each and everyone peace and more blessings this year.
I just added pictures of my nieces and nephews back home in the Philippines when they celebrated New Year's eve, too.

We had sun this morning and when I went to buy some sugar and flour in the corner near the end of the street, I took some pictures of the neighborhood where I am living. I visited Ellen and Henning during lunch today. Ellen made some egg cake with fresh mushrooms and small round pieces of chicken fillet. We also had brown bread, fresh cucumber, sweet cherries, green grapes and apple cider to drink. I baked some scotch bread that went with the coffee. I am enjoying the rest of the day and I hope you are all having a nice day, too or if not, I hope for the next hours to be better.

Studio Friday 's topic: Pet peeves

What annoys me every now and then is finding locks of my hair in the floor. I cannot stand looking at them and not doing something, and it has been a tiring routine for me already to gather them and put them away almost everyday. There was a time it fell in my paint and was brushed in the canvass I was painting, yay! I always tie my hair when I am home and I even comb my hair in the toilet so it will fall in the sink, but still I don't know why I still can see them in the floor and sometimes all rolled up in a corner.

Legacy. Wow this is tough for me. It never crossed my mind. Well, my artworks, that would be nice to leave behind and be remembered of by my loveones. Actually, many of my artworks tells something about me. It was never my intention but it does reflect who I am in more ways than one. I still dream of creating a lot more and who knows, maybe an extraordinary one. (dream, dream, dream) About myself as a person, I wanted my loveones to remember the faith I have, I don’t think I could have surpassed all the trials in my life if God have not been in my life. God have been my refuge and my strength. Everyone of us have our own struggle in life, it maybe similar to each other and can be completely different, and many times our loveones and friends have been our witnesses. Maybe they can say later on how I build my dreams, how my faith in God gave me inspiration, enlightenment and something to do and hope for.

This is the view outside my window. Pine trees that gives some shades on a beautiful sunny day. Sometimes when I look out my terrace, I imagine the wind creating an inspiring bottled up or capsuled smell of the pine and is slowly coming nearer to me, going around my place like a memory of a childhood past.

Happy New Year everyone. Here’s what are waiting to be done in my studio(s). Plural because my studio is always moving wherever I wanted to do some art. My artworks and tools can be found in many corners of the house he he he. You can find in the picture two big canvasses waiting to be painted, colorful paint(s) that are waiting to be opened, magazines waiting to be read and brushes hoping to move from their places. I have started making my new portfolio which I am wishing will not take forever and in which the pictures are not possible being printed without having a new printer(I am smiling!). I did not make any resolutions, my life is a bit complicated nowadays but, I am trying not to lose my creativity at all. Any good news I hear from anyone of you makes me happy and inspired.

CHEERS 2008! These are pictures I took last night. I forgot to take one picture of the food-the first one I took a bite on. It was a toasted flute bread with cheese and tomatoes on top. I must be already hungry then. I celebrated together with my ex-husband ...Yes, our friendship became more open and better after our separation. We did not go out to light some fireworks, and just enjoyed looking at them from the window glass - where we ate dinner and from another table in the sala, and while we drank on our way to 2008. I was surprised of how the pictures I took turned out especially those of the fireworks. They were beautiful! We could have taken it from the terrace but it was so cold and he was a little sick.

Christmas Dinner

The grilled duck is too big, the grilled pork is fat, I forgot to buy brown sugar for the potatoes, and I am not so fond of red cabbage. I also cannot wait for today, that I'd eaten last night the dessert that we love to eat during Christmas which is called "Ris a la mande". Finally, I decided I'll just prepare beef strings with roasted vegetables plus potatoes cut in cubes. But before that, is the smoked salmon with thinly striped cucumber on top. And for dessert is vanilla ice cream with chocolate on top. Shall we say cheers? Ohh and can you see the 3 words on the left of my dessert? -that is meant for all of you!

I cannot deny that Christmas time have always been the best holiday season I always look forward to since I was a little girl. The holiday spirit in the Philippines starts in the month of September and it has not failed the filipino people to look forward for another year of festive celebration. It doesn't matter if one is rich or poor, there was always faith and hope and those little things that makes one smile and happy in the heart.

Although, I had started late in making my christmas decor this year, I am glad that I did not lost the spirit after all. It is in my nature to stay happy and be brave despite of the weather and some problems. I am maybe missing that part of my childhood memories and the culture I was brought up to but, I am already here and I content myself with the kind of festive surrounding around me.

Studio Friday: Creating emotion

For the past three years, I had made some small gift boxes to hang on my christmas tree. But this year, I don't feel I have that christmas spirit which is very untypical of me. You see, I am going to celebrate the holidays alone, well........Anyway, I had removed a hanging carpet painting on the wall and what was left was the long thin wood where it was fastened. The other day, I thought I should taped the small gift boxes on it. And so I did, together with the small candle santa. Still, I don't feel anything-but when it started falling down in the sofa that I laughed a little. I said to myself, what's going on, could it mean I should have done better or make some more decorations? Actually, my cherry votive candles arrived today, maybe the fragrance can do something about that missing christmas creative emotion. What do you think?

I have a good luck charm in my desk drawer. (It is a the third vertebra of a monkey or whatever)It's just fun and some very unusual facts sometimes surface. I eat something before I start painting because I paint non-stop sometimes.

I have to make sure I 've been to the toilet or I will hold it until I finished.
I tie my hair at the back so I don’t feel heavy on my neck.
I start painting very early in the morning.
I cannot paint when there are people around me and they are noisy.
The only thing that can make me stop for some minutes is when I start having back pain and I will lie down on my bed nearby.

I keep my painting to myself for sometime before letting another soul see it.

stormy weather

Can you imagine the stormy weather in the month of November in my homeland the Philippines. Since how many years now since it started raining so hard on this month when it's less than a month before Christmas. Wherein every establishment and streets and houses and highways and gardens have been decorated beautifully already. What a pity. They say, the christmas spirit starts on the first day of September in the Philippines. Fun fun fun. December is the month I would wish to come home to visit and yet, it's like chaos especially with so many balikbayans-(filipinos going back to visit)and big boxes in the airport......but that's what makes it more exciting....Anyway, I'll just content myself by listening to filipino Christmas carols....la la la la la
